This is a painting of Fall River in Northern California on a summer day in the early morning. During my painting sessions an Egret flew by, gliding along the water and inspiring me to include it in the picture. Painting on-site requires extensive observation, as well as revisiting the location on numerous occasions during the same time of day. With strict discipline to observation, I am able to incorporate the essence of the site, and upon returning to my studio impart the finishing touches to the painting.
