Michael Randolph
My formal education in fine arts began when I returned from service in the US Army and enrolled in classes at San Joaquin Delta College. My course of studies exposed me to the world of art shows and museums where I learned to see photography as art form.
Inspired by the images and printing styles of the F64 club photographers, I started shooting large format and combining images in the darkroom. This method enabled me to express myself by capturing images and combining them to reveal the image in my imagination, like painting with light.
Today I am transitioning from film to digital; from the traditional darkroom and silver gelatin printing to computers, Photoshop and printing on (Rag) fine art papers.
