This year, I wanted to create a piece of art specifically for the Artisan Masters event. I went into the field and found an old vine with plump, juicy berries ready to harvest. After sketching on site, I returned to the studio and developed my concept, a vignette. With the soil and vines still fresh in my senses, the brush began a dance with the fruit, both understanding they could not escape the inevitable, “ci sara’ vino”.

As a realistic artist I have always sought to capture the warmth and vibrancy of life. Animals, people, and floral subjects have always been the subjects of my best works. The differences between light and shadow are my favorite expressions to explore. Most importantly I love colors and enjoy how they interact with each other as they meet on my paper or canvas.

I have been a professional artist and teacher for over 25 years. I received an AA and BA degree in Art and a Masters in Education. I have works in many private collections throughout the United States and Canada and have done commissions for a variety of organizations. I am an award winner in local, regional, national and international shows, including several Best of Show Awards. My paintings were chosen for the Best of Pastel America published in 2009.

I am presently serving as exhibits chair and president on the board of the Pastel Society of the West Coast where I was recently named a Distinguished Pastellist. I enjoy teaching portrait and painting workshops and being an exhibit juror. Learn more at http://www.tinamoore.net/

Title: “Seasons of Lodi Lake” hardcover photo collection with

Separate photograph “Armonioso” from 2009-2010 collection

Artist: Arturo Vera

Dimensions: Book 15” x 11.5” and Framed Digital Print 16”x 20”

Materials: Book hardcover photo finish & framed digital print

Minimum Bid: $322 for collection and framed photograph*

*This lot contains two items which may be priced separately upon request. The signed photography book “Seasons of Lodi Lake” contains 31 images along with the lovely enlarged framed photograph “Armonioso” from the collection.

My photography exhibit is based on a love of nature; a project aimed at capturing the dramatic effects of watermarks when the lake is drained and the refreshing spectacle when the waters flood back. To my delight I found beautiful, secluded and serene wilderness paths at Lodi Lake. I felt I had found a gem when I reviewed my images and was totally captivated by the beauty of the lake, the color and hue surrounding the mushrooms, the trees bedecked with lichen, the colorful brush and the rising of the waters after the lake had been empty for some time. It was truly a joy to capture this.

Studio Samba is a collaborative art workshop that provides a studio opportunity for artists who feel they augment each other. Samuel Bassett and Pepe Pool have worked in synchronization for four years on numerous modular sculptural projects.

We love the process of fitting shapes together, exploring spatial relationships, working toward a gratifying sculptural result. Materials are a subsidiary interest – usually concrete in its many variations, but also steel and lacquered wood and any found object that comes to hand.

A recurring theme in their work is constraint: spheres contained, stacked shapes, objects compressed. A new motif has crept in: escape. “Up and Over” is the first piece in this direction.

The color theorist Jean Justeau joins Sam and Pepe in fabricating dimensional wall sculptures that layer colors in unexpected combinations and shapes. Recent work is not confined to a traditional rectilinear, framed painting. The result is uninhibited, playful abstraction.
